KITTEN

I found a kitten in the parking lot at my college Monday night as I was on my way to FHE. It was meowing for it's mom, but id didn't run away or eat my face, so I figured someone had lost it or abandoned it, so I picked it up and took it home. I'm still trying to find an owner, the humane society hasn't called back yet, I think I'll try them again latter, and I may put adds in the newspapers and call the vets that are close to where I found him. But, in the meantime, we've named him Murphy. He seems to be some sort of Himalayan mix, his face isn't smashed, and he may be seal pointed, but his tail is streaked with white. i think he will look very distinguished when he's older.

His favorite toy is this little pink curl of plastic that he's just now lost because it is inside a tissue, but he'll play with just about anything. He is just too cute!

A lot has been going on lately. I may get to do some outreach to MESA groups, my classes have been just clipping along (midterms are coming up, I'm a bit worried.) Plus trying to find a research project, and writing up a grant proposal.

I've been trying to find some new ways to do my hair, when I do it down, it gets all staticy and caught in everything, and when I do it up I always do it the same way, a twisted bun. Sometimes I do braids, but that gets old too. I've been trying to do it curly, but it is hard to sleep on and it's been raining a lot lately, and I don't want to go to all the trouble and have it go flat. I'm not ready to cut it yet though, I have even more trouble deciding what to do with it when it's short!

I've been having trouble finding time to talk to girls my age. I don't have a chance during the day because I have to hurry from Math to English, then from English to Physics, and I don't have the chance after physics because there are two young men who ambush me, who seem to feel honor bound to escort me to where ever I had to go next. And art, I just want to get home after than and eat dinner! Church is no better, even if I get a chance to talk to just girls, boys are always wandering by, and want to know what going on!

College Collage

Well, school is in full swing now. I've been having a blast! I just love my classes! But there are aspects that are sort of crazy, I've been learning a lot about my own and others view points. I've had two exams, and made a five foot tall octopus. One of my lad reports got lost (not my fault!) and my physics professor seems to think I am at risk of becoming a terminator. Very interesting.

What a week! (well, really two or three weeks, but whose counting?) I had just gotten my job, roommate, and apartment squared away, I was going to move out on the 15th of this month, and work evenings, and I was going to live with two people I didn't know and one I only sort of knew. Then I went to the Cannon Envirothon, which was a total blast (I'll post more about that later.) But, I was out of touch with the world for an entire week. Then, I got home.

It was a Saturday afternoon, my mom and dad were hiking, so I decided to give my soon to be roommate a call to see what was going on. She told me that I had lost my job. (she is friends with one of my coworkers.) Oh, and that she and the other two girls didn't think I should move out with them if I wasn't employed.

So, not quite sure what to do now. The entire Kids Club I worked at closed, so I wasn't fired for cause. My bosses are trying to keep as much of the gym going as possible, but no way to tell for sure what it's future is. My school is already all paid for, so I don't have to worry about that. I've still got my savings, and my scholarships, I guess things aren't so bad.
